Our Fall in Photos

Sorry I have not been posting much lately.  I assure you, we have been enjoying this amazing fall.  Living it to the fullest.  Here is what we have been up to, our Fall in Photos:

Playing in the leaves with cousin Jack.

And Papa Don.

I have no idea how many leaves he ate, but I imagine it was an entire meal worth:)

The next day, we had our family photos taken by a very talented high school friend, Angie LaRue.

Pretty awesome, right?  I knew they would be fantastic.  Angie is really great, but I already knew that;)

And now all of the following pics will look very amateur....

Last weekend, we went to Boo at the Zoo at the Milwaukee County Zoo.
With Spidey and a lion...

And Alice...

And a bag of Eminems...

And the cutest penguin on the planet.

This weekend was our yearly pumpkin patch visit.  Much to my delight, there was significantly less hatred (crying and whining) for the pumpkin patch this year than years past.

Look at these cool dudes...

Picking out pumpkins with cousins.  Be still my heart.

And finally we got our pumpkins carved right before Halloween...

Hope your fall has been just as full:)

Nemo?

I am dying over this Nemo costume I have been making for the Sul for Halloween.  I felt a bit guilty for buying his frog costume from Savers last year, not even trying to make him one.  I had to make up for it this year.

He has a little obsession with Nemo going right now so I thought I would take advantage of it.  I mean, I could totally see me slaving over making a cute costume and then him refusing to even put it on.  I knew he would want to be Nemo.

I bought 2 blaze orange t-shirts from Savers, 1/2 yard of white fleece fabric and a small sheet of black felt.  I already had some black netting, quilting batting and some wooden skewers.

First I made the fins starting with the batting and skewers:

Then I did a bunch of other steps and this is what I have now:

I LOVE it from the back.  The front is not the greatest though and I have to tack down the front fins a bit more as they flop around a little too much.  Dying.from.cuteness.

PS if you want to know more about the steps, just ask!

Trick or Treat!

Sully survived his first Halloween with only a few tears.  Cousin Jens clearly had a great costume!  Scary!

 Ready for trick or treating...maybe.

Yes, we are definitely ready.

And in the end, he was rewarded with his first piece of candy which he gummed, chewed and then drooled out.

And he got the cutest Halloween card from Grandma Subes!

There is only one more holiday left in our year of firsts- Thanksgiving.  I am pretty sure this year has been more fun for me to watch him discover this world than it has been for him...unless he is playing with foam stacking blocks- that is pretty crazy fun.

Happy Halloween!!
