Addiction...

It may already be well known that I have an addiction to finding and collecting vintage Fisher Price Little People toys.  However, I recently went on another eBay bidding spree and snagged 3 new buildings with accessories.  I am working up to a whole village and then someday I will have one room in my house devoted to having it set up full-time.  Too much?  Anyway, I came home to a big box on my doorstep today and seized the opportunity to use it to bribe my child into eating a somewhat balanced dinner: small bowl of spaghetti, 3 squirts of applesauce squeezee in the mouth and some cheese and crackers.

Then we opened the "present"

 A children's hospital...

 "He's on the roof."

Yes, that crank is for an elevator.

 And an A frame...

Complete with rug, full kitchen, fireplace, glass sliding doors, dinner bell and a variety of decks and balconies.

I could not pass up the A frame because it reminds me of one of our annual Kosloski/Groth weekends, as in the one last year, when we lost our dog.  But is was still super fun and the neighbor, whom is also good friend of the Koslos, lived in an A frame so we did spend a good amount of time over there and swimming and fishing off of his dock.

There is still one more gem I am waiting for but I had to share these immediately!

PS- Have you watched the movie Behind the Candelabra yet?  I am pretty sure the Michael Douglas deserves an award.  He was fantastic!

Garage Sale Season

Its garage sale season, people!  I stopped at a few after work yesterday and picked up a few sweet toys including the little people train set below:

I am pretty pumped about it since it came with all the pieces, train, 4 people and batteries that work for $8!

I ran the Race for the Cure today and man, do I LOVE Madison!  It was amazing to see all the people out supporting a great cause.  I don't have pictures but I wish I could share the excitement of the day with you.  I ran most of the run with tears in my eyes reading all the "In Celebration of" and "In Memory of"s on the back of other runners shirts, in addition to running alongside survivors.  It was humbling and emotional.  I have never done Race for the Cure before and I can assure you I will be doing it every year from now on.

After the race I stopped at another garage sale put on by two sweet elderly ladies and a sweet elderly man.  They had some cool antique stuff to look at.  I ended up buying 2 jars of buttons (for some button crafts I have in mind), 4 white wooden frames and 4 little retro dishes for $11.  Sweet!!

The hubs was obvi excited about the buttons, too:)

Alright, now its time for a nice Saturday nap.  Ta Ta!

Garage Sale Saturday

I was able to escape the house by myself for a bit this morning.  I was not planning to stop at any garage sales but they sucked me in.  What if there was an amazing deal to be had?  Currently, I am on the prowl for toys for the Sullymon since he gets bored quickly and I need to have a good rotation of fun toys for him.  This is what I came home with.

Lots of toys and a sweet Polaroid camera ($2!).  I only spent about $17.50 on all these treasures.  I am drawn to toys from my childhood and toys that you can't just go out and buy anymore.  I had to get that stand up thing since the little Mister will be standing in no time and he obviously needs a stand up piano-type thing to conduct masterpieces.  The best part is you can adjust it for a baby lying on the floor or sitting (see below).

See?  Perfect!

I am especially obsessed with the old generation Fisher Price toys.  I think they are so cool and vintage-y.  I got a ferris wheel one from a garage sale earlier this summer.  Problem with these toys is that they are never in good shape because, well, they are toys and played with a lot.  None of these comes "gently used."  I was pretty pumped about the items below that I found a two separate garage sales today.

And lastly, this fun little item.  Who does not love a Polaroid camera?  Now, I just hope I can find some film for it.

Sully in his "new" toy heaven.

Lucky boy:)

Thank you for all of you that have taken time out to read my blog and listen to my thoughts.  Also, thanks for you comments and feedback.  I love reading them!  Have a great Saturday!!
